I believe that a strong, honest therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change. With a down-to-earth approach and a genuine passion for helping others, I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can feel comfortable exploring the challenges in your life.
I work with teens, adults, and families facing a wide range of emotional and transitional concerns—including anxiety, depression, ADHD, acculturation issues, and life changes such as starting college, career shifts, or divorce.
Whether you’re navigating a crisis or working through ongoing challenges, we’ll collaborate to set meaningful short- and long-term goals that support healing, growth, and a renewed sense of balance and joy.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 25 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s many transitions. As a first-generation Filipino-American who grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, I bring a personal understanding of how culture, identity, and family experiences can shape our sense of self and the way we move through the world.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Zoology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and began my career as a medical technologist before following my passion for mental health. I later earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University.
My early clinical work began in community mental health on Chicago’s north side, and I later worked closely with at-risk teens and their families at an alternative high school. Since 2007, I’ve been in private practice while also serving as a resource therapist in a partial hospitalization program, staying connected to the broader mental health community.
My background—both personal and professional—has shaped how I view each client as a whole person, influenced by their life experiences, relationships, and environment. I’m committed to creating a space that feels safe, grounded, and collaborative, where you can explore challenges and work toward healing, clarity, and lasting change.
I believe everyone brings their own story, strengths, and struggles into the therapy room. Whether I’m working with an individual, a couple, or a family, I take time to understand the bigger picture—how your relationships, environment, and experiences shape who you are.
When working with kids and teens, I value teamwork. That means staying connected with parents, schools, and other important people in their lives so we can all support them in the best way possible.
My goal is to help you tap into the strengths you already have and build the tools you need to move forward.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, I am able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
It is common for families to face times of conflict, loss, and life transitions. Dealing with these changes are sometimes stressful and frustrating. Family therapy offers families a way to develop or maintain a healthy, functional family.
Children and teens face challenges that range from academic stress to trauma. Sometimes it is overwhelming and confusing to navigate these experiences without the guidance of a professional. I can provide a non-biased, non-judgmental environment where your child can feel safe and comfortable. By forming a healthy therapeutic relationship they can focus on the skills and strategies needed to get through difficult times.
